Surat Nooh · Noah

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 1

   إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦٓ أَنْ أَنذِرْ قَوْمَكَ مِن قَبْلِ أَن يَأْتِيَهُمْ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ۝١ayah 1

   We sent Noah to his people: “Warn your people before there comes upon them a painful punishment.”

2. 2

   قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ إِنِّى لَكُمْ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ ۝٢ayah 2

   He said, “O my people, I am to you a clear warner.

3. 3

   أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَطِيعُونِ ۝٣ayah 3

   Worship Allah and reverence Him, and obey me.

4. 4

   يَغْفِرْ لَكُم مِّن ذُنُوبِكُمْ وَيُؤَخِّرْكُمْ إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ مُّسَمًّى ۚ إِنَّ أَجَلَ ٱللَّهِ إِذَا جَآءَ لَا يُؤَخَّرُ ۖ لَوْ كُنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ ۝٤ayah 4

   And He will forgive you of your sins, and reprieve you until a stated term. Allah’s term cannot be deferred once it has arrived, if you only knew.”

5. 5

   قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُ قَوْمِى لَيْلًا وَنَهَارًا ۝٥ayah 5

   He said, “My Lord, I have called my people night and day.

6. 6

   فَلَمْ يَزِدْهُمْ دُعَآءِىٓ إِلَّا فِرَارًا ۝٦ayah 6

   But my call added only to their flight.

7. 7

   وَإِنِّى كُلَّمَا دَعَوْتُهُمْ لِتَغْفِرَ لَهُمْ جَعَلُوٓا۟ أَصَـٰبِعَهُمْ فِىٓ ءَاذَانِهِمْ وَٱسْتَغْشَوْا۟ ثِيَابَهُمْ وَأَصَرُّوا۟ وَٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ ٱسْتِكْبَارًا ۝٧ayah 7

   Whenever I called them to Your forgiveness, they thrust their fingers into their ears, and wrapped themselves in their garments, and insisted, and became more and more arrogant.

8. 8

   ثُمَّ إِنِّى دَعَوْتُهُمْ جِهَارًا ۝٨ayah 8

   Then I called them openly.

9. 9

   ثُمَّ إِنِّىٓ أَعْلَنتُ لَهُمْ وَأَسْرَرْتُ لَهُمْ إِسْرَارًا ۝٩ayah 9

   Then I appealed to them publicly, and I spoke to them privately.

10. 10

    فَقُلْتُ ٱسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّكُمْ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفَّارًا ۝١٠ayah 10

    I said, ‘Ask your Lord for forgiveness; He is Forgiving.

    يُرْسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيْكُم مِّدْرَارًا ۝١١ayah 11

    He will let loose the sky upon you in torrents.

12. 12

    وَيُمْدِدْكُم بِأَمْوَٰلٍ وَبَنِينَ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ جَنَّـٰتٍ وَيَجْعَل لَّكُمْ أَنْهَـٰرًا ۝١٢ayah 12

    And provide you with wealth and children, and allot for you gardens, and allot for you rivers.

13. 13

    مَّا لَكُمْ لَا تَرْجُونَ لِلَّهِ وَقَارًا ۝١٣ayah 13

    What is the matter with you, that you do not appreciate Allah’s Greatness?

14. 14

    وَقَدْ خَلَقَكُمْ أَطْوَارًا ۝١٤ayah 14

    Although He created you in stages.

15. 15

    أَلَمْ تَرَوْا۟ كَيْفَ خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ سَبْعَ سَمَـٰوَٰتٍ طِبَاقًا ۝١٥ayah 15

    Do you not realize that Allah created seven heavens in layers?

16. 16

    وَجَعَلَ ٱلْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُورًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلشَّمْسَ سِرَاجًا ۝١٦ayah 16

    And He set the moon in their midst for light, and He made the sun a lamp.

17. 17

    وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا ۝١٧ayah 17

    And Allah germinated you from the earth like plants.

18. 18

    ثُمَّ يُعِيدُكُمْ فِيهَا وَيُخْرِجُكُمْ إِخْرَاجًا ۝١٨ayah 18

    Then He will return you into it, and will bring you out again.

19. 19

    وَٱللَّهُ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلْأَرْضَ بِسَاطًا ۝١٩ayah 19

    And Allah made the earth a spread for you.

20. 20

    لِّتَسْلُكُوا۟ مِنْهَا سُبُلًا فِجَاجًا ۝٢٠ayah 20

    That you may travel its diverse roads.’”

21. 21

    قَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ إِنَّهُمْ عَصَوْنِى وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ مَن لَّمْ يَزِدْهُ مَالُهُۥ وَوَلَدُهُۥٓ إِلَّا خَسَارًا ۝٢١ayah 21

    Noah said, “My Lord, they have defied me, and followed him whose wealth and children increase him only in perdition.”

22. 22

    وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًا كُبَّارًا ۝٢٢ayah 22

    And they schemed outrageous schemes.

23. 23

    وَقَالُوا۟ لَا تَذَرُنَّ ءَالِهَتَكُمْ وَلَا تَذَرُنَّ وَدًّا وَلَا سُوَاعًا وَلَا يَغُوثَ وَيَعُوقَ وَنَسْرًا ۝٢٣ayah 23

    And they said, “Do not give up your gods; do not give up Wadd, nor Souwa, nor Yaghoos, and Yaooq, and Nassr.

24. 24

    وَقَدْ أَضَلُّوا۟ كَثِيرًا ۖ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا ضَلَـٰلًا ۝٢٤ayah 24

    They have misled many, so do not increase the wrongdoers except in confusion.”

25. 25

    مِّمَّا خَطِيٓـَٔـٰتِهِمْ أُغْرِقُوا۟ فَأُدْخِلُوا۟ نَارًا فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا۟ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ أَنصَارًا ۝٢٥ayah 25

    Because of their wrongs, they were drowned, and were hurled into a Fire. They did not find apart from Allah any helpers.

26. 26

    وَقَالَ نُوحٌ رَّبِّ لَا تَذَرْ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ دَيَّارًا ۝٢٦ayah 26

    Noah said, “My Lord, do not leave of the unbelievers a single dweller on earth.

27. 27

    إِنَّكَ إِن تَذَرْهُمْ يُضِلُّوا۟ عِبَادَكَ وَلَا يَلِدُوٓا۟ إِلَّا فَاجِرًا كَفَّارًا ۝٢٧ayah 27

    If You leave them, they will mislead your servants, and will breed only wicked unbelievers.

28. 28

    رَّبِّ ٱغْفِرْ لِى وَلِوَٰلِدَىَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِىَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ وَلَا تَزِدِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ إِلَّا تَبَارًۢا ۝٢٨ayah 28

    My Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and anyone who enters my home in faith, and all the believing men and believing women; and do not increase the wrongdoers except in perdition.”
