Surat al-Burooj · The Constellations

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

1. 1p. 590

   وَٱلسَّمَآءِ ذَاتِ ٱلْبُرُوجِ ۝١ayah 1

   By the sky with the constellations.

2. 2

   وَٱلْيَوْمِ ٱلْمَوْعُودِ ۝٢ayah 2

   And by the Promised Day.

3. 3

   وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ ۝٣ayah 3

   And by the witness and the witnessed.

4. 4

   قُتِلَ أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْأُخْدُودِ ۝٤ayah 4

   Destroyed were the People of the Trench.

5. 5

   ٱلنَّارِ ذَاتِ ٱلْوَقُودِ ۝٥ayah 5

   The fire supplied with fuel.

6. 6

   إِذْ هُمْ عَلَيْهَا قُعُودٌ ۝٦ayah 6

   While they sat around it.

7. 7

   وَهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَا يَفْعَلُونَ بِٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ شُهُودٌ ۝٧ayah 7

   And were witnessing what they did to the believers.

8. 8

   وَمَا نَقَمُوا۟ مِنْهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن يُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْحَمِيدِ ۝٨ayah 8

   They begrudged them only because they believed in Allah the Almighty, the Praiseworthy.

9. 9

   ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ شَهِيدٌ ۝٩ayah 9

   To Whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. Allah is witness over everything.

10. 10

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَتَنُوا۟ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَٱلْمُؤْمِنَـٰتِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يَتُوبُوا۟ فَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَ وَلَهُمْ عَذَابُ ٱلْحَرِيقِ ۝١٠ayah 10

    Those who tempt the believers, men and women, then do not repent; for them is the punishment of Hell; for them is the punishment of Burning.

11. 11

    إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَهُمْ جَنَّـٰتٌ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ٱلْفَوْزُ ٱلْكَبِيرُ ۝١١ayah 11

    Those who believe and do righteous deeds will have Gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great triumph.

12. 12

    إِنَّ بَطْشَ رَبِّكَ لَشَدِيدٌ ۝١٢ayah 12

    The onslaught of your Lord is severe.

13. 13

    إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ يُبْدِئُ وَيُعِيدُ ۝١٣ayah 13

    It is He who begins and repeats.

14. 14

    وَهُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلْوَدُودُ ۝١٤ayah 14

    And He is the Forgiving, the Loving.

15. 15

    ذُو ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْمَجِيدُ ۝١٥ayah 15

    Possessor of the Glorious Throne.

16. 16

    فَعَّالٌ لِّمَا يُرِيدُ ۝١٦ayah 16

    Doer of whatever He wills.

17. 17

    هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ ٱلْجُنُودِ ۝١٧ayah 17

    Has there come to you the story of the legions?

18. 18

    فِرْعَوْنَ وَثَمُودَ ۝١٨ayah 18

    Of Pharaoh and Thamood?

19. 19

    بَلِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ فِى تَكْذِيبٍ ۝١٩ayah 19

    In fact, those who disbelieve are in denial.

20. 20

    وَٱللَّهُ مِن وَرَآئِهِم مُّحِيطٌۢ ۝٢٠ayah 20

    And Allah encloses them from beyond.

21. 21

    بَلْ هُوَ قُرْءَانٌ مَّجِيدٌ ۝٢١ayah 21

    In fact, it is a Glorious Quran.

22. 22

    فِى لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍۭ ۝٢٢ayah 22

    In a Preserved Tablet.
